Travel to Potsdam (via Berlin)
Berlin is connected by Intercity and international express trains with all parts of Germany and many cities in Europe, often by direct connection. There are night trains to Berlin (ÖBB nightjet) from Vienna (from March 2020), Munich, Basel/Zurich, Cologne and Przemysl/Krakow/Wrocław that operate seven days a week. The ÖBB nightjet operates also between Germany and Italy (https://www.nightjet.com/en/). Please visit the home page of your national railway or Deutsche Bahn (www.bahn.de) for connections and rates.
Berlin is well connected by long-distance bus (www.flixbus.de).
Currently, the Berlin Tegel and Berlin Schoenefeld Airports are served directly by several European airlines. To date, the opening of the new airport BER is scheduled for 31st October 2020, followed by the closure of Berlin Tegel airport on November 8th. However, since this project has been subject to frequent delays, please check https://www.berlin-airport.de/en/ber/index.php.
To get to Potsdam from the Berlin main station, Berlin central bus station (ZOB) or airports, you can choose between the suburban train (S-Bahn) (main and bus station), busses (Tegel airport) and a regional train (Schoenefeld airport). You can find all information on https://www.bvg.de/en . The train ride from Berlin main station to Potsdam main station is about 30 minutes.
Travel to the conference venue (Campus Griebnitzsee)
You can rent bicycles near the conference venue or Potsdam main station, e.g. from Potsdam per Pedales (https://potsdam-per-pedales.de/startpage/). There are also several Nextbike stations (https://www.nextbike.de/en/). In addition, there are several bike shops that offer bikes for rent.
The Campus Griebnitzsee can be reached by train (RB21 and RB22) from Potsdam main station and S-Bahn S7 from Potsdam or Berlin main station to the station “Griebnitzsee”. The trains operate every 30 minutes, the S-Bahn every ten minutes (from 9 pm every 20 minutes).
The local bus lines 616, 694, 696 connect the conference venue with the nearby city of Potsdam (Station “Bhf Griebnitzsee Süd”)
